My Approach

I naturally work in a person-centred approach, believing you are the expert in yourself and what is happening in your life. I trained as an integrative counsellor, which allows me to adapt my approach to support you in a way which feels right for you.

Trauma-Informed

& Neuro-Affirming

I am a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming therapist regularly working with clients with inter-sectional identities, whether through race, class, culture, gender, sexuality, disability or neurodivergence, who live with on-going discriminatory experiences and a sense of isolation.

My on-going training in trauma, supports clients' who have experienced distressing life events, whether one off events such as a bereavement or an accident, on-going trauma caused through exposure to distressing life experiences or invalidation trauma, where individual experience may be denied.

I provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore these challenges, to recognise how life experiences may have impacted your mind, body and nervous system, helping to heal and restore it.

Creative Counselling

I enjoy working creatively: I may utilise many resources and strategies to support our work, including crystals, stones, identity cards, pictures and art.

I am a trained Walk & Talk Therapist, taking therapy into nature, using movement, the environment and natural elements to aid personal expression. This approach can feel more informal than traditional therapy, allowing us to walk side-by-side, stimulating blood flow and reducing levels of anxiety and stress.

I am currently training in the Emotional Freedom Technique - also know as Tapping where fingertips gently tap on meridian points in the body whilst focusing on emotional or physical discomfort to reduce this charge.

Supporting Personal Understanding

Many clients come to counselling after a lifetime of feeling 'not good enough', experiencing shame, anxiety or stress at not being able to meet the expectations of others.

I meet you where you are in your journey, to help you let go of beliefs which are not true for you, help you make sense of your experience, to 'be your best self' and achieve your own potential.

My person-centred approach of counselling and mentoring can help focus on your individual profile of strengths and challenges and how you can move forwards in a way which feels right for you.
